Are you an experienced Warehouse Manager with a passion for operational excellence, team leadership and continuous improvement?
Walkers Chocolates is looking for a driven and hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse operation at our Birmingham headquarters.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within our Supply Chain & Logistics team, ensuring the seamless flow of materials, stock and finished goods across our manufacturing operation.
As Warehouse Manager, you'll be responsible for creating a safe, efficient and high-performing warehouse environment that supports production, delivers exceptional service levels and drives continuous improvement across the operation.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll take ownership of all warehouse activities, including:
- Leading and developing warehouse supervisors and operatives
- Managing goods-in, storage, stock control and customer dispatch operations
- Ensuring uninterrupted supply of packaging and raw materials to production
- Maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy and stock integrity
- Driving warehouse productivity, efficiency and cost improvement initiatives
- Implementing and improving warehouse systems, processes and controls
- Managing warehouse equipment, facilities and maintenance requirements
- Championing Health & Safety, Food Safety and compliance standards
- Working closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Finance and Commercial teams
- Creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
- Proven Warehouse Manager experience within a fast-paced manufacturing, logistics or distribution environment
- Strong background managing goods-in and goods-out operations
- Experience implementing warehouse systems, controls and process improvements
- Demonstrable people leadership experience within operational environments
- Strong understanding of compliance, operational risk and warehouse best practice
- Excellent leadership and coaching capability
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
- Inventory management and stock control expertise
- Good IT and systems knowledge
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Health & Safety awareness within warehouse operations
It would be great if you had:
- Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or another regulated environment
- Understanding of food safety and allergen management
- SAGE 200 experience
- FLT Licence
- Degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline
