The Opportunity

We are seeking a Payroll & Finance Coordinator to provide essential Finance, Payroll, and HR support at our site.

This is a varied and rewarding role that plays a key part in ensuring the accurate and timely flow of information between the site, Finance Shared Service Centre, Central HR, and Head Office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting payroll processing, month-end financial reporting, payroll and HR administration, and providing valuable support to site management and employees.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

– Work with the Finance Controller to ensure the timely delivery of monthly and year end results.
– Support the site management team with cost analysis, overhead reports, and commentary.
– Prepare accruals, prepayments and month end journals.
– Assist the Controller with balance sheet reconciliations.
– Ensure Group Policies and audit requirements are embedded at site level.
– Ensure local fixed asset administration is correctly maintained ( e.g. Bank guarantees, copy contracts etc).
– Expedite resolution of AP errors and provide guidance to process owners on accurate transaction processing.
– Supplier statement reconciliations, query resolution, and GRNI review.
– When required, generate Purchase Orders and receipt goods in line with standard processes.
– Process customer invoicing.
– Assist with financial and non-financial KPI reporting including Balanced Scorecard.
– Assist the FC with financial projects.
– Work cross functionally to support process and system improvements.

Payroll & HR Administration

– Manage all Payroll SAP exceptions and SMATCASES daily while investigating all attendance anomiles through Workday, Tensor while liaising with Line Managers. 
– Liaise with the central Payroll team to ensure that all queries, overtime and all absence reports are checked to ensure accurate employee payroll data while maintain the the payroll inbox. 
– Ensure all Payroll deadlines are adhered to, including the payroll summary and checking the payslips for errors
– Generate weekly reports through SAP for the management team, to include Overtime, Absence, lateness and clock in and outs.  
– Provide first tier HR administration support, including, recruitment, maintaining employment contracts and employee files, holidays and payroll queries with employee..
– Provide support for monthly HR reporting, Supplying data for the month end HR dashboard.
– Administer offers of employment and ensure all documentation is completed and returned correctly.
– Ensure leaver processes are followed, including processing leaver surveys.
– Provide support to Line Managers with induction programmes for all new starters.
– Support Line Managers with general advice on standard HR policies and processes including attendance and performance management, discipline and grievance
– Support Line Managers with recruitment including managing the vacancy approval process, advertising vacancies, arranging interviews.
– Maintain site job descriptions, ensuring they are updated by Line Managers as and when required.
– Maintain accurate and up to date employee records in line with current legislation including Right To Work in the UK.
– Calculate holiday entitlement and maintain holiday records.
– Provide advice on employee benefits including pension arrangements, maternity/paternity and other company and statutory benefits.

What We're Looking For

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

  • Finance qualification or relevant finance/accounting education.
  • Previous experience within Finance, Accounting, Payroll, or Administration.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience supporting payroll processes.
  • Knowledge of month-end accounting procedures.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment.
